Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User") and PIXELTIDE LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") governing your access to and use of the CalcEngineer website located at calcengineer.com, including all calculators, PDF report generation features, subscription plans, and related services (collectively, the "Service").

By accessing or using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement and that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.

2. Description of Service

CalcEngineer provides a collection of professional engineering calculators covering HVAC, electrical, structural, fluid dynamics, and other disciplines. The Service is offered in two tiers:

  • Free Tier — access to all online calculators at no charge.
  • Paid Tier (Subscription) — access to downloadable PDF reports generated from calculator results, priority feature updates, and any additional premium features as described on the pricing page at the time of purchase.

Features included in each tier may change over time. We will notify active subscribers of material changes at least 14 days in advance.

3. Subscription Plans and Billing

CalcEngineer offers subscription plans ("Plans") that provide access to premium features. The following terms apply to all paid Plans:

  • Billing Cycle. Plans are offered on a monthly or annual basis. Your billing cycle starts on the date you complete your first payment.
  • Automatic Renewal. All Plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.
  • Price Changes. We reserve the right to adjust subscription prices. Any price increase will be communicated to you via email at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new price.
  • Failed Payments. If a payment fails, we may suspend access to premium features and will attempt to notify you. Access will be restored upon successful payment.
  • Taxes. Prices displayed are exclusive of any applicable taxes, which will be added at checkout where required by law.

4. Cancellation Policy

You may cancel your subscription at any time. The following rules apply:

  • How to Cancel. You can cancel your subscription by visiting your account settings page, or by contacting us directly at support@calcengineer.com. Cancellation requests must be submitted at least 24 hours before the next renewal date to take effect for the current billing period.
  • Effect of Cancellation. Upon cancellation, your subscription will remain active through the end of the current paid billing period. After that date, your account will revert to the Free Tier and access to premium features (including PDF report downloads) will be removed.
  • No Partial Refunds. Cancellation does not entitle you to a prorated refund for unused days within the current billing period, except as described in Section 5 (Refund Policy) below.
  • Annual Plans. If you cancel an annual plan within 14 days of initial purchase and have not used the Service to generate more than 3 PDF reports, you may be eligible for a full refund under our refund policy.

5. Refund Policy

All sales are generally final. However, we offer refunds under the following limited circumstances:

  • New Subscribers. If you subscribed for the first time and cancel within 14 days of the initial charge, and have generated fewer than 3 PDF reports, you may request a full refund. To request a refund, email support@calcengineer.com with your order details.
  • Technical Failure. If a PDF report you paid for could not be generated due to a confirmed technical error on our end, we will either re-generate the report or issue a credit/refund for that transaction.
  • Duplicate Charges. In the event of a billing error resulting in a duplicate charge, we will refund the duplicate amount promptly upon verification.

Refund requests are processed within 5–10 business days. The refund will be returned to the original payment method.

6. Use of Calculators and PDF Reports

All calculators and PDF reports are provided for informational and educational purposes only. They do not constitute professional engineering advice, and must not be used as the sole basis for engineering decisions, structural designs, safety-critical systems, or permit applications.

Results are based on simplified formulas and standard industry references. Accuracy may vary depending on input parameters and real-world conditions. Users are solely responsible for verifying results with a licensed professional engineer prior to implementation.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on CalcEngineer — including but not limited to calculators, algorithms, PDF templates, text, graphics, and software — is the exclusive property of PIXELTIDE LLC and is protected by United States and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, or exploit any portion of the Service without our express prior written consent. Personal, non-commercial use of generated PDF reports for your own engineering work is permitted.

8. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Scrape, crawl, or systematically download calculator content or PDF outputs for resale or redistribution.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer or extract algorithms from our calculators.
  • Share subscription credentials with unauthorized third parties.
  • Use the Service to create competing products or services.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.

9. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT RESULTS WILL BE ACCURATE.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, PIXELTIDE LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING UNDER THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PIXELTIDE LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.

11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall first be attempted to be resolved informally by contacting us at support@calcengineer.com. If informal resolution fails, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Orange County, California, in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association.

12. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify active subscribers via email. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
