Privacy Policy
Effective Date: April 10, 2026 | Last Updated: April 10, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how PIXELTIDE LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use the CalcEngineer website at calcengineer.com, including our engineering calculators, PDF report generation service, and subscription plans (collectively, the "Service").
By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Service.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
We collect information you provide directly when you interact with paid features of the Service:
- Email address — collected when you purchase a subscription or PDF report, used for billing confirmations, subscription management, and support communications.
- Payment information — billing is processed by Paddle.com, Inc. (Paddle), a PCI-DSS-compliant payment processor and Merchant of Record. We do not store your credit card number, CVV, or full payment details on our servers. We retain only the last 4 digits of your card, card type, and billing country for customer support purposes.
- Calculator inputs — data you enter into calculators is processed locally in your browser. When you generate a PDF report, the input values are transmitted to our servers solely to render the report and are not stored after delivery.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you visit our website, we automatically collect certain technical information:
- Usage data — pages visited, calculator interactions, time spent, referral URLs, and browser/device type. This data is collected via Google Analytics and is aggregated and anonymized.
- Cookies and local storage — we use cookies and browser storage to maintain session state, remember preferences (e.g., unit system), and support analytics. See Section 4 for details.
- IP address — used for security, fraud prevention, and geographic compliance checks. Not linked to personal profiles.
1.3 Subscription and Billing Data
For subscribers, we maintain records of your subscription plan, billing history, renewal dates, and cancellation status. This information is necessary to provide access to paid features and to comply with our legal and financial obligations.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information for the following purposes:
- Service delivery — to process payments, generate PDF reports, manage your subscription, and provide customer support.
- Billing and renewals — to charge your payment method on the recurring billing schedule you selected and to send billing confirmations and renewal reminders.
- Communications — to send subscription confirmations, cancellation notices, billing receipts, important service updates, and responses to your support requests. We do not send unsolicited marketing emails without your explicit consent.
- Service improvement — to understand how the Service is used, fix bugs, improve calculator accuracy, and develop new features.
- Legal compliance — to comply with applicable laws, respond to legal process, and enforce our Terms of Service.
- Fraud prevention — to detect and prevent unauthorized access and fraudulent transactions.
3. Information Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We may share your data only in the following limited circumstances:
- Payment processor (Paddle.com, Inc.) — your payment information is shared with Paddle to process transactions. Paddle acts as a Merchant of Record and its privacy policy governs their handling of this data: paddle.com/legal/privacy.
- Analytics providers — anonymized usage data is shared with Google Analytics to help us understand user behavior. Google's privacy policy applies: policies.google.com/privacy.
- Legal requirements — we may disclose information if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental authority, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Company, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers — in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user information may be transferred as part of the transaction. You will be notified via email and/or a notice on our website prior to any such transfer.
4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use the following types of cookies and tracking technologies:
- Essential cookies — required for basic site functionality, such as session management and remembering your selected unit system (Metric/Imperial). Cannot be disabled.
- Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) — collect anonymous data about how visitors interact with our site. You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- Advertising cookies (Google AdSense) — used to display relevant ads to free-tier users. Google may use cookies to personalize ad content based on your browsing history. You can manage ad personalization at adssettings.google.com.
- Payment processor cookies — Paddle sets cookies to prevent fraud and manage the checkout session.
Most browsers allow you to manage or disable cookies through browser settings. Note that disabling cookies may affect the functionality of the Service.
5. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as necessary to provide the Service and comply with our legal obligations:
- Email address and subscription records — retained for the duration of your subscription plus 3 years for legal/tax compliance.
- Billing records — retained for 7 years as required by financial regulations.
- PDF report inputs — not retained after the report is delivered.
- Analytics data — retained for 26 months per Google Analytics default settings.
You may request deletion of your personal data by contacting us at support@calcengineer.com. Note that we may be required to retain certain data for legal compliance even after your request.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

7. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including HTTPS encryption for all data transmitted between your browser and our servers, and access controls that limit who within our organization can access personal data. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe that a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date and, where required by law or where changes significantly affect your rights, notify you via email. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
